About Us

Southern Comfort Farm is a well established boarding and training facility established in 1988. We moved to the present facility in 1995 and offer full board and training on 200 plus acres.

Carolyn grew up in the St. Croix, US Virgin Islands and competed on Ginger and Romany at local shows. The ponies did everything: Western, English, jumping, games. They were ridden to and from the horse show and were staked out once they arrived. There were no horse trailers, stalls, and hay nets were a rare commodity on the island. Then, during the middle of her high school years, her parents uprooted and replanted her in the frigid north of South Carolina. Later, Carolyn attended Berry College which brought her to Rome, GA. After graduating and briefly working in Atlanta, Carolyn returned to Rome to live.

She has started many horses in the discipline of eventing that have gone on to compete successfully at the upper levels. Her own horse, Michael, competed through Intermediate. Currently Carolyn is working her mare, Astaire, with Gunnar Ostergaard and Gigi Nutter and showing second level dressage.

Todd was born and raised in Rome, GA and also went to school at Berry College. He majored in Business and has a successful career in the flooring business. Todd’s farm interests include raising Angus cattle and Kathadin sheep. Please visit our sister site Wright Family Farm.

Carolyn and Todd have a beautiful five year old little boy. He showed his first lamb last year at the fair and took home a blue ribbon. He enjoys helping Mommy and Daddy around the farm and harvesting vegetables out of the family garden.
